Julia Pearson’s entire life has revolved around her husband and the life they planned together. When he dies unexpectedly, Julia is left to pick up the pieces and contemplate a world and a state of being for which she is unprepared. She meets a photographer, Paul Westin, a decade younger than she, who not only helps her to emotionally recover from the death of her husband, but who introduces her to a group of people who encourage her to reinvent herself. Together they try to make sense out of a chaotic and unpredictable world wherein the only thing we can control is what we leave behind us after we die.
