In the year 2075, exactly three centuries after the American war for independence began, a six-member revolutionary group succeeds in overthrowing a thoroughly corrupt government in Michigan, now a sovereign country by virtue of secession as authorized by constitutional amendment. With a population so utterly fed up with only the very wealthy in supreme control over the downtrodden less fortunate, the newly-formed congressional body resorts to punitive measures against the very rich that strongly resemble those of France in 1789 and Russia in 1917 -- like a pendulum swinging from one extreme to another. Amazingly, however, an unprecedented act of computer hacking quickly leads to the overzealous new regime's downfall.
