Sir Malcolm and the Shadow Passage

While studying an antique surveyor's chart by candlelight, ten-year-old knight-in-training Malcolm discovers a hidden corridor missing from all official estate maps: the mysterious Shadow Passage. Equipped with a brass lantern and his trusty practice sword, Malcolm ventures down into the manor's cool, cavernous undercroft with his loyal Scottish sheepdog, Brody, sniffing out the trail. Beyond the aged cider casks and limestone arches, Malcolm traces forgotten masonry deep beneath the foundations. When a glint of weathered iron hidden in a stone wall reveals an ancient relic of the realm's earliest defenders, an evening expedition turns into an authentic brush with living history. Rich with timeless pastoral warmth, quiet curiosity, and loyal companionship, Sir Malcolm and the Shadow Passage is the second installment in the Sir Malcolm the Brave series, crafted for early independent readers and family read-alouds.
