Sir Malcolm and the Forgotten Belfry

As winter's first frost silvers the castle courtyard, ten-year-old knight-in-training Malcolm studies the cryptic words of Master Finch's ancestral diary by the hearth fire. Having cataloged the bronze pin from the millrace weir, Malcolm focuses on the riddle's next clue: the high, silent tower tucked far above the royal halls. Equipped with his horn lantern and accompanied by his devoted Scottish sheepdog, Brody, Malcolm ventures down into the cavernous cellar vaults. Deep in an old larder alcove, a hollow whistle of winter air and a flickering lantern flame draw them toward a dust-choked shelving frame. Discovering an icy draft pouring straight through the foundation wall, Malcolm and Brody prepare to follow the whispering wind upward into the long-forgotten belfry. Rich with late-autumn charm, architectural discovery, and steadfast canine companionship, Sir Malcolm and the Forgotten Belfry is the sixth installment in the Sir Malcolm the Brave series, crafted for early independent readers and family read-alouds.
