This book presents examples of prefabricated architecture in a contemporary context, with particular emphasis on the most ecologically sound projects. Prefabricated buildings often represent a more effective use of resources, a reduction in construction time and a minimisation of waste. This results in a diminishing ecological footprint, and in the case of housing may indicate the optimum balance between the module's size and estimated life usage time. The book also shows various forms of ephemeral architecture such as stands, mobile offices and pavilions, as well as situational architecture and public installations.
