Young Hearts

A prequel to my novel, Restless Hearts, Young Hearts is the story of five teenage friends and a budding rock band. While looking after his coming of age younger sister, comforting an ill-fated and dying mother and trying to live up to the standards of an overbearing father, Michael Clifford finds refuge in his music. His world and emotions begin to crumble when he gets involved with a much older female Guidance Counselor from his high school. This greed driven woman promises to make Michael an overnight musical sensation while taking advantage of his innocents. Michael is forced to grow up much faster if he is to survive in the world of musical stardom. He turns to drinking and drugs as a new refuge. He soon finds shelter within a female friend, classmate, and band member, who helps Michael learn about life, family struggles, true friendship and unconditional love.
