You have never prayed alone: Joining Heaven’s Prayer

Prayer is not the beginning of a new conversation. It is joining the one already underway."I don't pray anymore." If that sentence is yours, this book will not ask you for more willpower. It will ask you a different question: what were you really trying to do during all that time you thought you were praying? No one perseveres for years in an exercise where they speak alone in an empty room. No one could. You did not simply lack discipline. You may have been taught a way of praying that could never hold.God never asked you to organize your own prayer meeting. He calls you to join the prayer of Jesus. At this very moment, a perfect prayer rises to the Father. And you can learn to enter it.But to do that, many of your own prayers will need to fade away. That is the condition for true prayer to become possible. You have never prayed alone. Not even in those years when you thought you were speaking to a wall.
