Satire-writing is a social endeavor. If satire is not for society, it holds no meaning. Satire is neither a personal grievance nor a mere means of entertainment. A satirist endeavors to voice society's pain against injustice and immorality. This is precisely why Parsai Ji wrote that satire is not something meant just for laughs.I write because my conscience is still awake-because in my view, there is much in society that deeply troubles me and compels me to write.
