WRITING BETTER ENGLISH

This book is designed for intermediate to advanced speakers of English who need systematic practice in formal writing of one kind or another, such as letter writing, essay writing, writing business or scientific reports or preparing papers for conferences. The exercises and the advice on the lanquage and style are based largely on experimentation and on long experience of writing classes for advanced speakers of English. Much of it has profited over the years from the helpful hints and complaints of long-suffering students and colleagues.
