Sinds hun debuutalbum 'Weird Little Birthday' in 2013 heeft de Londense band Happyness zijn weg gevonden in de rock 'n roll highway. In maart 2016 improviseerden ze met David Thomas van Pere Ubu (“no plinky-plonky - we make songs”). Acht maanden later speelden ze enkele nummer uit de 1994 art-indie classic 'Crooked Rain' van pavement, samen met Bob Nastanovich. En in juni hielden ze in hun set een speciale hommage aan David Lynch, naar aanleiding van Mark Linkous van Sparklehouse in de London's Union Chapel.“We somehow managed to email David Lynch and ask if there was anything he’d like to contribute,” says guitarist, co-vocalist and keys man Benji Compston. “He sent us an instrumental to play over the speakers, one of the last things Mark Linkous did. It was bizarre, and pretty special.”
