World and Uzbek Poetry

This monograph provides a systematic study of the typological characteristics of the elegy and marsiya genres in world and Uzbek poetry. The work scientifically analyzes the mechanisms of formation of these genres in Eastern and Western poetic thought, starting with the elegy traditions of antiquity, as well as the common and different features in their structural and semantic nature. The elegy and marsiya samples found in Uzbek classical literature, oral folk creativity, and contemporary poetic discourse are investigated through a comparative-typological approach, revealing their national specificities and their role in shaping the poetic worldview. The monograph also explores the Sufi, moral-ethical, and socio-aesthetic layers inherent in these genres, as well as the continuity of artistic traditions throughout their historical evolution.
