Bol The work is a case study which aimed to understand how the workshop, as an educational technology, helped five mothers who were aggressors to modify violent behavior towards their children. It explored the perceptions of these mothers about the development of their violent behavior, identified what behavioral changes occurred in these mothers after participating in the workshops and indicated alternative educational actions that modified their violent behavior. The children were in a situation of intra-family physical violence, treated by an interdisciplinary team from a public hospital. Ten workshops were held, with semi-structured interviews before and after the mothers' participation and an observational report. The conceptions of how to educate, the reasons that trigger violence and the families' trajectories were identified. The testimonies revealed the need for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention, which implies the need for specialized intervention in the fields of education and health. The workshops enabled mothers, children and professionals to change important aspects of their lives in terms of the dynamics of relationships.
