Why is a world created good now marked by rebellion, suffering, injustice, corruption, and death? This volume presents the biblical teaching concerning the fall of humanity, the nature and spread of sin, spiritual separation, death, divine judgment, and the universal need for redemption. It shows that sin is more than weakness or social disorder: it is rebellion against God that damages persons, relationships, institutions, work, knowledge, and creation. Yet the book does not end in despair. By exposing the seriousness of sin and the justice of God, it prepares the reader to understand the necessity and glory of salvation in Jesus Christ.
