Wind & Fire Earth Spirit (LP)

Spirit is het zevende studioalbum van Earth, Wind & Fire, 45 jaar geleden, in 1976, uitgebracht door Columbia Records. Het album steeg naar nr. 2 op zowel de Billboard 200 als de Top Soul Albums-hitlijsten. Twee singles werden enorme hits; "Getaway" bereikte nr. 1 op de Billboard Hot Soul Songs-hitlijst. “Saturday Nite, piekte op nr. 4 op de Billboard Hot Soul Songs-hitlijst en nr. 21 op de Billboard Hot 100-hitlijst. Spirit kreeg lovende kritieken. De New York Times schreef; "What is most interesting about Maurice White and his musicians, is their refusal to be locked into any stylistic format Mr. White's record will be labeled 'disco' in some quarters, and indeed parts of if, would not sound out of place in a disco. But, generally, Earth, Wind and Fire is closer to jazz, or to jazz‐rock, than to the thumping formulas of disco. And yet the group isn't afraid to slip in a ballad, either.” Dit is een gelimiteerde oplage van 2500 individueel genummerde exemplaren op vlammend gekleurd vinyl, inclusief een insert met songteksten.
