Will Abstracts, Belmont County, Ohio, Volumes I and K (1856-1872)

This is the fifth volume in a series of will book abstracts from Belmont County, Ohio. The main purpose of this volume, and this series, is to act as an index to the original records. Entries typically include names and dates gleaned from the issuance of letters testamentary or letters of administration, followed by appraisal, sale, and final settlement data. The majority of entries also provide a wealth of names and relationship information. This handy reference book will be a valuable aid to Belmont County researchers by revealing relationships, confirming associations, or providing clues. It is interesting to follow the change in customs seen in the records during the sixteen years abstracted herein. An extensive every-name index adds to the value of this work.
