During the Eocene Era, an extraterrestrial genus relinquished its subordinate species, now known as opt inhabitants, to Earth, and it wasn't until the 1900s that scientists discovered this mammalian-like species to be foreign to our planet. However, his ability to feel is limited by instinct. Phase One of Project Opt Homo-Inhabitant entails assimilation, but to achieve this, he must gain a human-level emotional range. If there is no progress, the subject is then terminated. Lee is on the brink of loss until he meets his first friend, Virginia.
