Bol 'Sushant Thapa paints perfect Sufic lines in this collection, When I Desire and Other Poems, he longs in the gallery, in the purple sinking sunshine, on a sidewalk full of roses. Hope, longing and self-persecution always bring woe to the lover's tale. "I exchanged laughter/ I exchanged greetings and the sad heart felt the beat." Thapa's lines collide like two lovers, like diamonds and rusty metal. These lines bleed catharsis, allowing any lover to take a moment from their own suffering and let out an exasperated I feel you brother.-Darek Thomas, author of In the Shadows of Rumí, On the Shoulders of Giants, Lyrics of a Dark Sunrise, and three other collections published with Alien Buddha Press.
