When a Soldier Became Poet

They say grief is what occurs after you lose something close to you. But is it true that you can grieve yourself? After an injury that left her benched from playing water polo, Quinn turned to poetry as an outlet to grieve losing her sport, her friends, and her own mind. One of the worst moments in any student-athletes life. Quinn offers an honest look into the life of students navigating the stress, anxiety, and challenges that come with being a teenager in 2026. Written throughout her high school career, this anthology captures deeply personal experiences through poetry, with an overwhelming hope that students everywhere will find comfort in knowing they are not alone. Not just comfort, but a connection and reflection with their own lives or pasts. And maybe grieving yourself isn't the end of who you are, but the beginning of discovering who you were always meant to become.
