What the Lord Requires

What does God actually require of us?Micah 6:8 answers that question with remarkable simplicity: to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.In What the Lord Requires, Benjamin Liles takes a close, practical look at one of Scripture's most familiar verses and asks what it really means to live it-not simply admire it. Rather than treating Micah 6:8 as a comforting quotation, this short, focused book explores the weight behind each phrase and the kind of life God is calling His people to live. What does justice look like when no one is watching? What does it mean to truly love mercy rather than merely show it when convenient? And how do we walk humbly with God in a world that constantly encourages us to promote ourselves, defend ourselves, and put ourselves first?Through Scripture, reflection, and practical application, What the Lord Requires shows that God's expectations were never meant to be mysterious. Faithfulness is found in how we treat people, how readily we extend grace, and how closely we choose to walk with Him.This is not a book about adding more religious obligations to an already crowded life. It is an invitation to return to something simpler, deeper, and more demanding: becoming the kind of person whose everyday life reflects the character of God.Because sometimes the hardest part of Scripture is not understanding what God said.It is deciding to live it.
