Dear reader, this is the second installment of the 'Alcohol, Weed, and Stimulants' series. In my twenty years of drug abuse, cannabis proved to be the most enjoyable, yet profoundly entrapping substance. The first part of the book dives deep into our civilization's intricate relationship with the plant - from its ancient roots to early industry to its current global wave of normalization and legalization. The second section explores the science behind the high. It breaks down the inner workings of cannabis addiction, examining the chemical disruption of various brain circuits, as well as our culture's role in influencing the process. It looks into the plant's true healing potential, and concludes with ways to overcome its seductive grip. In the last part, I share my story of addiction and recovery, illuminating the world of cannabis dependence from the lived experience of seventeen years of daily use. Cannabis is one of the world's sacred plants. Its true role in our society is not to keep us docile and hinder our growth, but to teach us serenity, humility, and moderation.
