Weathering the Storm

A collection of work spanning twenty years of the life and struggles of artist and writer Aaron Moran. Half art book, half confessional. He talks about having to restart his life from scratch, doing street art, working crazy hours and battling to make rent. Things peaked when a mental breakdown had him diagnosed with psychosis, during this time he began working in comics and graphic novels, discovering his new love for writing. Art became therapy, writing became release and love became freedom. The book tells his story from 2007 to 2026, a very honest and direct retelling of a man finding himself more than once, trying to understand his diagnosis of psychosis and autism, looking after his mother after her brain injury and her unexpected death. His partner Rachel became a light in a dark place, and his art and books are now finding an audience, be hopeful and happy in a uncertain future.
