Walter TV Blessed (CD)

Blessed is a limited edition LP by Canadian band Walter TV, blending lo-fi indie rock with offbeat, surf-tinged psychedelic elements. The album’s home-recorded aesthetic emphasizes warbly guitars, heavily treated vocals, and an eccentric, collage-like approach to songwriting that reflects the group’s nomadic lifestyle and basement-bred origins. Released in 2015, it captures the quirky, experimental spirit of musicians who move comfortably between slacker rock familiarity and stranger, more jittery textures, resulting in a playful yet oddly disorienting listening experience. This limited edition vinyl pressing highlights the album’s DIY charm while offering collectors a more tangible connection to Walter TV’s world. The rough-edged production, unconventional song structures, and pervasive sense of restless movement give Blessed a distinct identity within the indie rock genre, standing apart from more polished contemporaries. As an LP, it underscores the band’s preference for analog warmth and tape-like wobble, inviting listeners into a reverb-soaked, cigarette-hazed atmosphere that feels intimate, handmade, and slightly surreal.
