Volunteer from the Audience

In the charged atmosphere of a struggling comedy club, a devoted wife and manager finds herself drawn into the orbit of a polished hypnosis comedian whose act blurs the line between performance and personal surrender. What begins as a favor to secure an opening slot for her husband spirals into a complex web of lingering suggestions, professional rivalries, and shifting desires that test the boundaries of trust and control. As the wife volunteers for a seemingly harmless bit, the effects refuse to fade, pulling her deeper into a dynamic where laughter masks deeper emotional stakes and the husband confronts his own evolving role as observer and participant. Tension builds through private reinforcements, green-room negotiations, and the slow erosion of carefully drawn lines, forcing all three to navigate consent, jealousy, and the intoxicating pull of power exchanged under stage lights. The story explores how a marriage transforms when one partner's voice becomes the trigger for change, leaving them to decide whether to lift the spell or let the act continue indefinitely.
