Vincenzo Orgitano

The 'Opera XXXV Fatto Per S. A. R. La Princessa Maria Teresa Borbone'. Vincenzo Orgitano most likely composed his Opus 35 in Naples. The autograph is currently kept in Vienna at the Austrian National Library. Since the manuscript and other musical works dedicated to Maria Theresa Borbone are now in Vienna, this suggests that she had the sheet music brought to Vienna when she moved there. Vincenzo Orgitano's Opus 35 is held in the Austrian National Library under the catalogue number 'Mus.Hs.12734'. Opera XXXV, as it is called in the original, was composed in 1785 and consists of six two-movement sonatas for harpsichord or pianoforte and violin and is: 'Fatto per S. A. R. La Pricessa Maria Teresa Borbone' (composed for Princess Maria Theresa Borbone). My bachelor's thesis deals with the music-historical and interpretative background of the critical edition of the first three sonatas preserved in the autograph in the Austrian National Library.
