Verbs and Vertigo

Verbes et Vertiges is a lyrical exploration of love, absence, and memory, tracing the delicate interplay between longing and presence across cities, rooms, and intimate moments. Each poem acts as a cinematic snapshot - a whispered secret in the flutter of a curtain, the echo of footsteps on rain-soaked streets, the tremble of a piano key long after the music has ended. From fragile gestures, like leaving a single leaf for someone treasured, to the quiet weight of rooms haunted by absence, Reid navigates the tender and sometimes dissonant spaces where affection, desire, and reflection meet. The collection blends English and French motifs, delicate imagery, and sustained metaphors to evoke emotion without sentimentality. At its heart, Verbes et Vertiges is about presence in absence, the echoes we leave behind, and the private worlds we inhabit with those we love - whether near or far, remembered or imagined.
