Vera's Story

Vera and Herbert are teenagers who fall in love during World War Two. Drafted into the Army Air Coups Herbert is being trained to be an airplane mechanic who will be shipped overseas to repair our bombers and keep them in the air. Reality hits them in the face when they discover they cannot live on a private's salary. Defeated and out of money, Vera returns home to live out the war with her parents. Herbert, meanwhile, makes the single, most critical and life-altering decision anyone could make. He places their marriage, their lives, and their love on one roll of the dice. Vera's Story is not fiction. It all happened. This is not Hollywood's story. This is not an officer's story. This is the actual story of the real war, fought by real men and the women who loved them. This is Vera's Story. It is a love story and the price of love. Wherever possible, the real names of the actual participants are used.
