Mavis transfers to a school of the arts at the start of her junior year to boost her dance credits and make herself a more well-rounded and attractive applicant. She doesn't plan on landing the lead in Chicago. She doesn't plan on meeting a dark and dreamy boy.Challenged by Notre Dame to write a personal essay describing how she is incomplete, Mavis first thinks of her absent mother.
