Two Sides to Every Story

There's an African proverb stating that, "it takes a whole village to raise a child"; The constitution of the united states begins with, "we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal"; and within the pledge of allegiance, the implication is that we are, "one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.Tears From The Hood is a poetic journey addressing the reality of these idioms through the eyes and experiences of a black man, born and raised in a country where the hypocrisy of that constitution, pledge of allegiance, and African proverb are manifested on a daily basis by the conduct of its government and the lack of it's humanity. She would read poetry by Paul Laurence Dunbar to him. He has been a lover of poetry ever since.
