Truth is Trouble: New and Selected Essays, Speeches, Tributes, Farewells, Five Pivotal Interviews

Truth is Trouble is an intellectually stimulating and powerful collection of Professor Osundare's writings, spanning decades of critical engagement with significant aspects of our world, including literature, politics, culture, identity, and the challenges of truth in today's complex global landscape. Comprising five interconnected thematic sections - Troublesome Truths, Troublesome Muses, Troublesome Terrains, Reluctant Farewells, and Five Pivotal Interviews - the book explores the crucial role of the writer in a world grappling with historical amnesia and pressing ethical considerations. Professor Osundare's enduring voice is that of a dedicated intellectual - sharp, poetic, challenging - yet full of empathy. By asserting that "truth is trouble," he emphasises that literature serves not as an escape from reality but as a direct engagement where language must be vital, transformative, and restorative.
