Trunks & Tiaras

Lady Glenconner, Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Margaret, and bestselling author of Lady in Waiting and Manners and Mischief, returns with her latest volume of memoirs, packed with stories of her travels - across the globe, and close to home. Lady Glenconner turns her inimitable eye to the habits and eccentricities she loves most about the people and places she has had the good fortune to explore. From grand houses and embassies to modest huts and idyllic beaches, Anne Glenconner reveals youthful exploits on sailing boats, surprising incidents at health spas and what it’s really like to be on a state visit with a princess. Whether packing tiaras or coping with tantrums, and drawing on nearly a century of travel, she tells us about the unique people she has met, the extraordinary places she has seen and the experiences that moved her. A deeply personal love letter to the joys of exploration from one of its most remarkable storytellers, drawing on nearly a century at the heart of aristocratic life.
