Trump Did It!

On November 4th, 2024, I realized the next day was Election Day. I already voted about two weeks before through mail-in ballot. I always vote that way, and I tell people that I will stop voting if mail-in ballots are stopped. On November 5th, 2024, I was 50/50 in my mind as to who would win: Harris or Trump. I hoped Trump would win, but I really wasn't confident he would. I also wasn't sure that Harris could pull it off. I talked with some close friends who I knew I could have calm, friendly political conversations with. Most of them thought the same as me.Work ended and I headed home. After dinner, I turned on the election results on the Internet. Trump was already ahead. And, he stayed ahead all night. I was surprised - really surprised. I was tired and wanted to sleep; but, like many of my friends, I was worried about going to sleep and waking up to see news about a flip-flop. Sleep came anyway. I woke up early, and saw that Trump won. He did it. Trump did it! This had me thinking over the next few days. I guess I really wasn't 50/50 about the election. 50/50 was what I was hoping and striving to believe. But, I was very happily surprised.
