To Deny God Is Megalomania brings together a series of hymns and poems in which spiritual experience becomes philosophical, theological, and poetic revelation. Through the voice of Petrus Romanus, the work explores holiness, the union of humanity with God, truth, love, immortality, and the moral responsibility born of recognizing oneself as part of a single creation. At the heart of these poems lies a paradox: true pride does not consist in affirming that God dwells within humanity, but in believing that human beings can exist apart from Him. The ego appears as the wall that separates the human person from fullness, while love, charity, and truth constitute the path toward union with the Creator. Drawing inspiration from the Scriptures while engaging Western philosophy, the spiritual traditions of the East, and the author's own mystical experience, these verses propose a vision of life in which justice can never be built upon hatred, violence upon truth, or religion upon pride. The mystical experience that gave rise to these pages had already been celebrated in Petrus Romanus' earlier poetry collections, Hymns to Jesus, King of Kings, and In Persecutione Extrema; its revelations are examined in dialogue with philosophy in Being God: Global Metaphysics. To Deny God Is Megalomania invites readers to undertake an examination of conscience, where holiness consists not in withdrawing from the world, but in learning to love creation through the very gaze of God.
