Those Who Sing the Siren Song: A Thameside Murder Mystery: 4

When the body of a long since forgotten musician is found at the bottom of a five-hundred foot cliff face, all the evidence points to a suicide. Case closed. But when a track he wrote gets chosen as the theme tune for a TV-series that's become a global megahit, that verdict doesn't seem quite so secure. After the briefest of brushes with fame in the 80s, Paul Hodgson spent the next forty years in obscurity, selling power tools in a north London home improvement store. But after all this time there's now serious money in play. His former bandmates are circling, old rivalries are resurfacing, and it seems he could have guarding a dark secret. Jack, Jamie, and Kaitlin are drawn into a mystery that leads them from the heights of Beachy Head to some of the seedier parts of south London, and from the nostalgia for what was supposed to be a more innocent time to a tragic death buried long in the past. As they uncover the truth about a forgotten songwriter and a miscarriage of justice, they discover that revenge has been lurking patiently in the shadows. Set in the historic cobbled streets of London's Shad Thames, Those Who Sing the Siren Song is a sophisticated mystery about fame, legacy, and the destructive power of a lie that could be neither forgotten nor forgiven.
