Harriet Latham Robinson juggled marriage and divorce, motherhood and career, long before "having it all" was a part of most women's identities. A Boston-area native, Robinson's high-spirited autobiography recounts a whirlwind life full of travel (including to Russia at the height of the Cold War), receiving a Ph.D. from MIT, raising three boys largely on her own-and ultimately, pursuing a burgeoning career as one of very few women at the forefront of the then-new field of molecular biology.Robinson's career led her to the center of cutting-edge work on vaccine development, culminating in her position as a co-founder of GeoVax Inc., a biotech company that successfully brought her candidate HIV vaccine into early-stage human trials.Robinson, now retired and living in California, is Chief Science Officer Emerita at GeoVax.
