The Worse For Wear

"Steeped in early-aughts pop-culture, experimental poetics, and the absurdities of collegiate and political bureaucracy, The Worse For Wear is a guide for how to just get through the day in America, and then how to collect those days into a meaningful life. From early, awkward teenage crushes, to the disillusionments of middle age, this book is for those of us trying to map out how we got from there to here, to forgive our younger selves, and to accept our current ones. Hard-earned truths are both unfrocked in blunt, direct confrontation, and costumed-up in rich, joyous language. Super-smart, super-funny, super-gay, and super-heart-wrenching, Goldsmith's work is a celebration of poetry as one of our flawed humanity's greatest, redeeming habits."-Robin LaMer Rahija, author of Inside Out Egg
