He is a Chthonic deity, meaning he is from the Underworld. He is not an Olympian God. He is a primordial being that predates that Titans and Olympians. He is notably seen in the myths of Sisyphus and when Herakles wrestles him to save Alcestis. Thanatos is inevitable. In the end we all must face him. But there are a few who worship him and consider themselves his devotees. This book is a collection of poetry and prayers dedicated to the god of death.
