At just 19, Kurt Mueller was keen to prove himself in the service of his country as a pilot with the famed Jagdgeschwader 26 Fighter squadron based in France. Kurt was looking forward to his first mission. That mission had come to an abrupt end when he bailed out over Southern England in the summer of 1940. Now he was alone with little prospect of return to France. The last thing he expected was to fall in love, least of all with a girl who was his enemy.
