THE THIRTEENTH WARD

Blackthorn Asylum was abandoned for a reason. When paranormal investigator Mara Vane enters the crumbling institution on the night before it opens as a haunted attraction, the building begins staging horrors no one designed: voices whisper through dead speakers, corridors change shape and a wheelchair appears bearing the date of her birth. Then Mara meets Silas Rook - a man without a reflection who claims Blackthorn is not haunted at all. It is a door. Beneath the asylum, Dr Alistair Bell's forgotten experiments awakened the Sleepless Choir, an ancient intelligence woven from the minds of the dead. As the attraction traps its staff and Blackthorn reshapes itself around Mara's memories, she must uncover why the entity has been waiting for her - and whether naming the lost can save them before every voice becomes one. Atmospheric, unsettling and steeped in cosmic dread, The Thirteenth Ward is a paranormal horror novella for readers who enjoy haunted institutions, hidden histories and supernatural mysteries that reach far beyond one cursed place.
