the Sweet Life in Shepherd's Presence: A Close Reading Psalm 23

The Psalms are a soothing balm for all those who are ailing. Psalm 23 in particular saw me through a difficult trial many years ago and has remained dear to my heart. However, one thing that remains curious to me is that this passage is so often used at funerals, and yet it is not about death. Psalm 23 is more like a road map for LIFE, encompassing the twists and turns of our walk with Christ; including the joy we share when following Him, the fears in our trials, the sweet peace of forgiveness, the triumph of overcoming and the delight of filling our days with our Shepherd Savior. In this 6-week study you will be encouraged to follow closely after the Shepherd. The reflection questions at the end of each chapter can be done individually or in a group setting and will help you in your pursuit to apply God's Word in a relevant way to your daily life. After all, as He leads us into pastures and valleys, meadows and desert places, flowing streams and dry places, we learn to trust Him more deeply with our struggles. As we follow near enough to fall into His loving arms, we find joy and contentment no matter our circumstance.
