"The strongman" in biblical terminology refers to a ruling demonic spirit that controls a specific "stronghold" or territory. The primary purpose of the assignment is to frustrate God's plans, abort His callings, and cause individuals to lose momentum, opportunities, or promotions. The "spirit of sabotage" relies on deception. Many see it as working closely with minor, subordinate spirits like doubt, unbelief, or low self-esteem, as well as dealing with both external circumstances and human anxiety. The Bible views sabotage-whether it is directed at others or at oneself as destructive to God's purposes. Scripture warns against malicious sabotage that destroys communities and goodness, as well as against self-sabotage that results from foolishness or lack of discipline.
