The Sangha: A Story for Everyone

The Sangha: A Story for Everyone is a gentle picture book inspired by the true 2025/26 Walk for Peace, when 19 Buddhist monks set out on a remarkable 108-day journey from Texas to Washington, D.C. Alongside their faithful dog, Aloka, they share a simple but powerful message: peace begins within each of us.Through beautiful storytelling, young readers discover how kindness, patience, mindfulness, and compassion can grow one thoughtful step at a time. As the monks are welcomed by communities along their path, children learn that every caring action-no matter how small-helps make the world a more peaceful place.Perfect for ages 4-8, The Sangha: A Story for Everyone encourages meaningful conversations about empathy, resilience, friendship, and community. Ideal for families, classrooms, and libraries, this inspiring story includes helpful notes for parents and educators about mindfulness, loving-kindness, and the Buddhist tradition that inspired the journey.
