The Reject List

Every year, Thornmere's Choosing selects twelve teens to renew the Wall that holds back the Blight. Mira Voss has failed the Choosing three years running, marked null, told her magic doesn't even register. When the Chosen Twelve vanish during their first task and the Wardens seal the roads instead of sending help, everyone else calls it grief. Mira calls it a lie.Because her magic isn't nothing. It's the one thing that can go places the Wardens' wards can't detect, which makes her the only person in Thornmere who can find out what actually happened to the missing. What she finds is worse than anyone imagined. The Wall's protection has always come with a hidden price, paid in a currency no one was ever told about. And the people willing to help her prove it, a smuggler with her own reasons to hate the Wardens, a healer who's spent years quietly tending what the system ignores, a boy who should have been Chosen and wasn't, are the only ones in the realm willing to ask the question Thornmere has never let itself ask out loud. What if the sacrifice was never the price of safety? What if it was just convenient?Mira was told her whole life she was nothing the Wall needed. She's about to find out she's the only thing standing between Thornmere and the truth. The Reject List is Book One of the Thornmere series, a fast-paced YA fantasy about power, sacrifice, and what happens when the person everyone wrote off refuses to stay quiet.
