The Prince Who Sailed for His Father

Ithaca is drowning in suitors, and twelve-year-old Prince Telemachus is the only one who still believes his father is alive. An epic children's adventure of courage, loyalty, and coming-of-age, this thrilling companion novel to Homer's Odyssey follows a boy prince on a daring sea voyage across the wine-dark Mediterranean to find the truth about his missing father, the legendary hero Odysseus. Guided by the goddess Athena in disguise, Telemachus must escape the schemes of greedy, threatening suitors occupying his own palace, sail in secret past treacherous waters, and seek counsel from Nestor of Pylos and King Menelaus of Sparta, hearing legendary tales of the Trojan War, the wooden horse, and warriors lost at sea. Packed with Greek mythology, palace intrigue, hidden ambushes, loyal old servants, secret alliances, and a boy's desperate race to become the man his kingdom needs, this is a story of family, bravery, and destiny - perfect for young readers ages 9-12 who love myths, heroes, and high-seas adventure.
