The Petlyakov Pe 2 In Profile & Scale Part I

Volume ¿ 14 of the Profile & Scale series covers the lovely Pe-2 Peshka to an entirely new standard of authenticity. More than 65 pages of entirely new, original and not previously published 1:48 and 1:72 scale line drawings reveal the development and complexity of the Pe-2 family as never before. These line drawings are the culmination of many years of dedicated work and based upon the inspection of all known surviving Pe-2 specimens. Particular credit must go to the staff of the Norsk Luftfartsmuseum at Bodø whose assistance was both vital and superior.Volume I presents many development and variant detail facts about the Pe-2 which have been previously unclear or incorrect. The scale drawings and profiles are complimented by photographs, diagrams, appendices and other documentary material to explain the technical and construction details of the main wartime series. Many of the colour profiles herein represent examples which will be familiar to students of the Peshka, however no doubt unfamiliar in appearance. This series hopes to dispel the very many misconceptions which persist regarding Pe-2 camouflage and painting practices, and indeed Volume II will contain an entire section on that specific topic. Several profiles will doubtless be new even to experienced readers, and it is hoped these will delight both the casual interest and the serious student, equally.
