This novel recounts the strange adventures of a frustrated man who, on the verge of suicide, encounters a mysterious woman who urges him to take revenge on those who have made his life miserable. Following her advice, he embarks on a path of crime, even parricide. Having committed his murders, he flees in her company. During his escape, marked by further crimes, a series of strange coincidences lead him to an unexpected end, a bizarre and fantastical ending in every sense of the word. As the protagonist changes his name to conceal his actions, the narrative style shifts. This novel contains a short essay on suicide, a brief play, a story (supposedly) stolen from the internet, and numerous coincidences-those that Jung termed synchronicities. The final chapter, which unfolds mostly inside an elevator, is strangely both a culmination and an illumination.
