They chance upon a wild persimmon tree, yet make a pact that none of them will pick a single persimmon without the others' knowledge. That very tree, heavy with persimmons dusted in snow, becomes the spiritual anchor that helps the children survive the harsh winter. True to their promise, not one of the children steals a persimmon in secret. When winter finally fades, flocks of passing birds descend on the tree and devour every last persimmon.¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿
