The Northern Gardener

In Pine Crossing, gardens never lie. But people do.Penny Davies knows nearly everyone in her small Northern Ontario town-and after more than four decades there, she knows that old grudges can take root just as deeply as anything in her garden. When Pine Crossing's cheerful Maple Sapling Festival takes an unexpected turn, Penny finds herself caught up in questions that no one seems particularly eager to answer.Old rivalries begin to surface. Long-held secrets refuse to stay buried. And the more Penny notices, the harder it becomes to accept that everything in her quiet little town is quite as innocent as it appears.Set among the forests, gardens, changing seasons, and familiar rhythms of small-town Northern Ontario, The Northern Gardener is the first book in the Pine Crossing Mysteries, a cozy mystery series filled with friendship, community, humour, and secrets that have been waiting a very long time to come to light. Some secrets are buried for a reason. Penny Davies has a habit of digging.
