the Night Pumpkins Got Their Voices Back

A gentle, magical Halloween adventure about courage, listening, and the power of small voices. Perfect for ages 4-7.On Halloween afternoon, Lila Moonbeam discovers a tiny pumpkin named Pip hiding beneath the leaves-his shell glowing with a soft, golden crack and his voice barely a whisper. Long ago, pumpkins sang bright little songs that lit safe paths home for children, but a Quieting Spell silenced their chorus. Now Pip and the other pumpkins have forgotten how to sing. With her star-shaped flashlight and a heart full of kindness, Lila helps Pip follow a shimmering trail into the woods, where forgotten songs wait to be heard. Together they meet shy pumpkins, friendly ghosts, and the lantern tree that glows with old magic. Lila doesn't push or hurry them-she simply listens. And slowly, one brave note becomes another, until the pumpkins gather in a moonlit circle and rediscover their voices. When Pip finally sings his soft, wobbly "Boo...," a spark leaps from his crack and dances from pumpkin to pumpkin, lifting the Quieting Spell with a chorus of small, brave voices. That Halloween, the Pumpkin Chorus guides every child safely home, and Lila is named the Pumpkin Listener-a title given only once every hundred years.A tender celebration of courage, self-expression, and the magic that begins with the smallest voice. This cozy Halloween story is ideal for: - Shy or anxious children learning to speak up- Neurodivergent-friendly storytime with gentle pacing and emotional safety- Classroom read-alouds and fall activities- Bedtime stories during the Halloween season- Families who prefer sweet, non-scary holiday booksIncludes a creative activity page: "Make a Pumpkin Song" where children name their pumpkin, choose its sound, and write their own glowing tune.Enchanting, warm, and beautifully illustrated, The Night the Pumpkins Got Their Voices Back is a Halloween tale children will return to year after year.
