The Muse and Other Stories

Edward Aloise is a James Beard Award restaurateur, a successful chef, and a hospitality consultant. Edward has written for several hospitality publications; his articles have been featured in his city's online news outlet, and he has produced a widely read monthly blog. Edward, originally a native New Yorker, now lives in Manchester, NewHampshire, along with his wife, Claudia Rippee, an accomplished photographer, and theirfeline roommates. This is his second collection of short stories. THE BOARD ROOM and Other Stories was published in 2025.In this second collection of short stories, I continue to explore how people respond to situations they find themselves in, through no decision of their own and outside their experience. In each scenario, some are shocked and must reassess their lives and how they will move forward. Others discover altruism, courage, and humor, while some, facing challenges that demand decisions and actions they have never encountered before, reveal the darker side of themselves.
