The Man with Thirty-Seven Brothers

Dr Yuki Tanaka's meticulous world of dusty records is about to reveal a secret that will rewrite history. While digitising housing files, he uncovers an enigma: a single man, Mr. Lim, officially listed as 'brother' and emergency contact to thirty-seven unrelated men. Yuki knows these records aren't just an anomaly; they're a window into a hidden world of found families, forged in a society that denied their love. But some secrets demand to stay buried. Mr. Adrian Lim, a powerful property developer and Mr. Lim's nephew, demands the records be sealed. He fears scandal, protecting a family legacy he feels compelled to uphold. As Yuki fights to preserve history, Adrian fights to protect his uncle's reputation, igniting a clash between preservation and protection. Forced to collaborate, their initial antagonism slowly gives way to a simmering attraction. As they navigate Singapore's vibrant, historically rich neighbourhoods, they unearth a clandestine network of queer men who forged bonds of kinship, providing mutual support when legal recognition was non-existent. With a final building connected to this extraordinary community facing redevelopment, the clock is ticking. Will Yuki and Adrian uncover the truth of these brotherhoods before their legacy is erased forever, or will they succumb to the forces that threaten to keep these vital stories hidden?
